Dolphus C. Morrison and Lamantia, Blackburn & Needham/Betz Thoroughbreds will be $100,000 richer as a result of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby wins by Rachel Alexandra and Mine That Bird, respectively.
“It is especially exciting to see Kentucky bred win two of the premier races in the world,” said Lisa Underwood, executive director of KHRC. “To have Kentucky horses win both the Oaks and Derby is a real boost to our industry and to the people who work hard to continue this great racing tradition in Kentucky.”
